Plans for the Redevelopment of Great North Leisure Park

Regal has submitted a planning application to redevelop the Great North Leisure Park in Finchley. This ambitious project aims to deliver a new leisure centre and transform the site into a vibrant, sustainable neighbourhood that promotes health, well-being, and community connection.

Regal’s ambition is to create a new health and wellbeing destination, with a re-provided leisure centre at the heart of a thoughtfully designed landscaped development. In November 2023, Barnet’s Cabinet agreed to progress proposals for the re-provision of the existing leisure centre. This will allow for the delivery of an improved leisure centre adjacent to the site, with a new lido and views of Glebelands Open Space.

Transforming Great North Leisure Park

Our proposals include:

  • 1,502 new homes, with 23% designated as affordable housing
  • Nearly 28,000 sq ft of flexible commercial space
  • A brand-new leisure centre featuring:
    • Three indoor water areas
    • An outdoor lido overlooking the Glebelands
    • Sauna and steam rooms
    • Gym facilities
    • Children’s play area
    • Multi-purpose studios for classes and community events

The redevelopment will also bring significant environmental and social benefits. We plan to replace much of the hardstanding with green spaces and public gardens, creating a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Improved pathways will provide better links to the Glebelands Open Space, giving residents greater access to nature.

Lodge Lane Car Park Redevelopment

This submission follows Regal’s plans for the redevelopment of Lodge Lane Car Park at Lodge Lane, London, N12 8JH, just 1.5km north of the Great North Leisure Park. This project is an exciting opportunity to revitalise a brownfield site into a vibrant, sustainable part of North Finchley Town Centre.

This project will enhance North Finchley’s role as a thriving community hub, offering new homes, amenities, and social spaces for residents and visitors alike.
